Tri-Ball is a round robin style tournament where every team plays 9 games, playing on every section of each court, playing every team at least once, and never standing off court more than two games.
Games are timed to 15 minutes, starting and ending at the cowbell. Points are scored AGAINST you for hitting the ball out, or into the net, letting the ball drop on your court, or an infraction of the rules. So LOW SCORE wins. After each game, points are written down and after 9 games are complete for all teams, tallied up to determine who winners are. Scores are not revealed until the end so all teams play hard throughout the tournament.
Teams that are not on the court playing are required to shag balls for those on court. This keeps play going and does not allow for artificially low scores for those teams. Since games are timed, servers can serve fast, as long as the court is clear of balls and all players are standing on court.
